DEBI STROMBERG - YOUTH 1 TO 1's and YOUTH STRUCTURE
Presentation

Debi Stromberg asked for input on specific information we would like Meiling to
present to council regarding youth activities, also we should discuss items pertinent
to and needing Meiling’s input first so she doesn’t have to sit through the whole
meeting.

Debi reported on the Southeast Portland Youth Collective’s Facebook and
Instagram pages, and ways to make this information more accessible to the rest of
the congregation. She also shared information on the one-on-one format being done
with youth in the Collective and specific findings of this listening: youth are
experiencing increased stress and pressure to perform (grades, college, incurring
student loan debt), issues with family/at home, etc.

We were encouraged to build stronger relationships with the teens in our congregation, and ask them the same questions, and listen to them in order to build relationships. A way of doing this would be through invitations for coffee.

LAST MEETING MINUTES - August Minutes could not be approved
